DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will take action against your teenager’s drivers license for certain offenses.   Possession of alcohol or drugs under the age of 21 are common referrals.   Speed contests and other offenses can also result in the minor losing their license for a year.   In many cases, the minor must call the DMV to set up a hearing within 10 calender days of their ticket/arrest; otherwise, their license will be automatically suspended for a year.   In most cases, the minor will subsequently be facing Juvenile Court action either in the Juvenile Traffic Department or in the Juvenile Court.   Hiring the services of McGlinn & McGlinn immediately after the minor’s ticket/arrest is extremely important.
